We, the Benedictine Community
of Emmanuel Monastery,
are a monastic community seeking God
through prayer, community life, and ministry,
continuing a 1500 year tradition.
Empowered by the Word of God,
we claim our gifts as people of the Gospel
with commitment to justice, peace, and care of Earth,
offering hospitality in a culture that fosters hostility.
We serve persons with material and spiritual needs
and challenge structures that diminish
human dignity.
Because we bear the name Emmanuel,
God with us,
we commit ourselves to be an
intentional presence of God in our world.
